Partnering with the Municipality of Brindisi, we've embarked on a project to redefine the city's visual identity. This initiative seeks to position Brindisi as a year-round destination for slow tourism, attracting digital nomads and remote workers. Through collaborative workshops with local residents, we aim to create a visual identity that authentically reflects the city's unique character and paves the way for sustainable tourism development.
Five co-design workshops were held between June and July 2021, involving citizens from various backgrounds. These sessions, a blend of in-person and online formats, aimed to understand the Brindisi context and collaboratively develop design solutions. Activities included both standardized brand design tools and custom-made micro-tasks to foster engagement.
The first workshop, held in-person as the inaugural moment of a collective journey, focused on getting to know Brindisi, discovering its soul and potential through a series of individual and group activities. The city emerges with untapped historical and cultural potential, coupled with significant natural and landscape resources, and an identity strongly linked to the themes of hospitality and welcome. A city to be discovered and one that wants to rediscover itself.
The second workshop focused on understanding, through brand character analysis exercises, how the city is perceived externally, what its personality is and how this character can be enhanced, investigating its strengths and weaknesses and delving deeper with participants into the verbal and visual communication aspects of the city.
The third workshop focused on the connection between destination and multi-sensory experiences. To which senses can the experience of the city of Brindisi be associated? The reflections that emerged during this session, in conjunction with the crucial themes discussed in the previous sessions, led to the creation of a summary mood board capable of condensing the concept developed for the city's brand identity.

Brindisi is a city moved by the wind and enriched by the sea, natural forces that draw the visitor in, sometimes slowly, sometimes with energy. A city whose relationship with time is so strong that it seems to be outside of time; you can savor it slowly, little by little, 365 days a year.
A destination not only for those who want to stay a few days or weeks, but also for those who want to give their days a new rhythm and savor a new way of living, for a year or more, letting themselves be carried away, sometimes by fresh and light breezes, sometimes by more energetic currents that lead you to exciting places and activities, not only in the city, but also in the hinterland and along its coasts. Like a second home, a new base from which to (re)start, explore, and get to know.

The color palette selected to depict the city features a harmonious blend of blues and teals, reminiscent of the city's maritime spirit and breezy atmosphere, and warm hues of orange and yellow, capturing the essence of its architecture, sun-drenched days, and vibrant sunsets.
